Equal opportunities for all children offered by the Institute for Rural Initiatives

On February 8 through 12, 2016 the Institute for Rural Initiatives provided 170 children coming from 3 schools from Moldova (“Gribova” Gymnasium, Gribova, Drochia, “Mihai Eminescu” Lyceum, Hincesti town, and “Ion Creanga” Lyceum, Zirnesti, Cahul) with schools supplies and other materials necessary for a quality educational process.

61 children of 170 beneficiaries have received educational vouchers, a core component of the project implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives aiming at increasing the school performance of the pupils by providing them with homework facilitating sessions.

This innovative project has been implemented by iRi since 2009, and has been continuously providing children from vulnerable families with school supplies, homework facilitation sessions and school lunch tickets.

Simultaneously, a working session with beneficiaries’ parents and the administration of the schools was held. During the sessions there were discussed challenges faced in the implementation of the program, efficient ways of overcoming them as well as was emphasized the important role parents have in the education of the children.

The initiative is implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives and its local partners, with the support of Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED Moldova).
