Young entrepreneurs from four rural communities from Moldova are investing in their own capacities

The Young Entrepreneur pilot project implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives in partnership with Global Fund for Children continues its activities in December 2016 as well.

Around 81 students of 12-16 years from four rural communities across the country, who are interested in understanding and nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit, are attending training sessions organized in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Experts, who are providing the trainings, are teaching the subjects in a very interactive way using modern teaching methods and materials. Among the subjects of the sessions can be found the following:

  • Money put the world in motion… but where they came from?
  • Why people want to be entrepreneurs?
  • Why to invest money in a business and how to do business?
  • What getting profit can be so attractive?
  • etc.

Already in March 2017 students will receive a small loan of 250 lei/MDL in cash and will proceed to the practical part of the project in order to create goods that will generate profit and help them return the loan. This scenario is very similar to the reality in the entrepreneurial field.

At the end of this academic year there will be organized Craft Fairs and children will have the opportunity to sell their work, get some profit and return the loans back to iRi.

We would like to remind that the pilot program Young Entrepreneur has been launched in 2015 aiming to boost and encourage entrepreneurial spirit among 12 through 16-year-old students in the rural areas of the country.
