Briefing Minority Empowerment in Moldova – outcomes after three years project implementation

Despite the rainy weather, most of our partners from different regions of the country could make it in time for the event. We are pleased that the second briefing for donor community from Moldova was highly appreciated by attendees.

Along with representatives of donor and civil society communities, we have talked about the Minority Empowerment in Moldova project and also discussed the sustainability of rural development programs in our country. We have shared our model of work, developed and tested over the three years of project implementation.

The results achieved within the project were presented directly by the beneficiaries. One of the mayors attending the event, Mr. Ilia Chiosea noted the uniqueness of IRI approach emphasizing the vital importance of civic involvement of community members in solving local issues.

The discussions were very good. Project’s challenges, gaps, and achievements have been discussed, as well as ways to improve and built upon the spark of civic activism and participation that has been lit within the project in 22 communities from all over the country.

We would like to thank local community leaders and LPA representatives involved, as well as express our gratitude to LED Moldova, US Embassy in Moldova, UNDP Moldova, FHI 360, USAID and Embassy of Hungary in Moldova for their participation and involvement.
