Already becoming a tradition, the Institute for Rural Initiatives organized an interactive activity to celebrate New Year’s Eve for the children that participate in Democracy Club. About 13 youths that promote democracy enjoyed a festive atmosphere with the IRI team and received well-deserved gifts. Each of the children came prepared to the activity to recite poetry and sing carols about Christmas and New Year’s. The satisfaction of the IRI team was evident. “The children’s smiles and their knowledge gained during the many years of Democracy Club represents the greatest joys and rewards for us”, said Ruslan Stanga, founder and director of the Institute for Rural Initiatives.
The organization of the event and festive atmosphere was due to the IRI staff, as well as by Peace Corps Volunteer Holly Walker from Cahul. This event was possible thanks to the support of the Global Fund for Children.
