A new round of activities in Democracy Schools

The Institute for Rural Initiatives started a series of workshops in democracy schools. This year children of democracy schools will practice training and development topics of constructive spirit in the format “I am going to have a future”. Traditionally the workshops will take place in three schools of Moldova (village of Minjir, Hincesti region, village of Gribova, Drochia region, and village of Zirnesti, Cahul region).

The program will enable children to participate throughout the year in interactive activities developed and carried out by iRi facilitators with the support of experts and Peace Corps’ volunteers in Moldova.

The workshops take place once a week during the entire academic year and will mobilize about 80 children aged between 10-15 years.

We are glad to share with you our successful experience gained during several years while children of Roma and non-Roma origin have learned to spend time together, to work together in a team, to support each other and become friends.

This activity is a part of the Social Inclusion Program 2013-2014 of Democracy School organized by the Institute for Rural Initiatives with the generous support from the Global Fund for Children, USA, Washington, D.C. and Foundation of the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) in Moldova.
