Education Plus II: a new step forward for inclusive education in the Republic of Moldova

Three years after piloting the “Education Plus” project the Institute for Rural Initiatives announces its continuation in the year 2014.

At this new stage the “Education Plus II” project comes to facilitate quality educational processes in three schools from the Republic of Moldova; previously the project has covered only one school. The object is to contribute to a better integration of children from diverse backgrounds with a special focus on children of Roma origin into the school.

The project covers the following localities: village of Zirnesti, Cahul district; village of Gribova, Drochia district; town of Hincesti. It focuses on improving the school performance of about 70 children, decreasing class absence rate and dropout rate, as well as on growing a friendly interaction between children, parents, and teachers.

The core element of the assistance is another set of education vouchers equivalent to school supplies, homework facilitation classes, and school lunch tickets. During the implementation of this project the selected schools will receive technical assistance and logistical and methodological support.

This project is implemented in partnership with local partners and the Ministry of Education with the support of Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED, Republic of Moldova).
