The Institute for Rural Initiatives has organized an exchange of experiences for teachers coming from three schools involved in the “Education plus II” project implementation. The event took place in Chisinau and has hosted 25 teachers from Lyceum “Ion Creanga”, Zirnesti village, Cahul rayon, Lyceum “Mihai Eminescu”, Hincesti town, and Gymnasium “Gribova”, Gribova village, Drochia rayon. It was also attended by official LED in Moldova representative Mr. Pius Frick.
During the meeting teachers had an opportunity to exchange opinions and impressions regarding homework facilitation sessions from previous years, to identify and elucidate the teacher’s role in the facilitation process, as well as to came up with motivational strategies that will allow schools involved in initiative implementation to work on ideas and proposals in order to increase the efficiency of project.
Teachers have shared that the event served as a good energizing activity to start the school year allowing them to begin the process of facilitation with lots of optimism and refreshed vision.
With regard to the usefulness of this exchange of experience event Mrs. Aliona Ribac, School Principal of the Gymnasium from Gribova village, has mentioned: “It’s a great pleasure to get to know and have a chance to work with teachers who have the same experience and make a continuous effort to improve the education of disadvantaged children in particular Roma ones”.
Mrs. Ana Vivdici, School Principal of the Lyceum “Mihai Eminescu” from Hincesti town, has emphasized the importance of working with teachers: “A major role in this process represents working with teachers in order to motivate and adapt effective working methods and change the society perceptions on the issue of Roma children in this regard”.
We would like to bring to your attention that “Education plus II” project is based on a new system of quality education facilitation that comprises three types of educational vouchers.
The Institute for Rural Initiatives will offer support for students and teachers from the three schools mentioned above in the period of 2014-2016.
The project is implemented with the support of Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED Moldova) in partnership with local partners, coordinated by Ministry of Education of Republic of Moldova.
