Starting October, 2014 the Institute for Rural Initiatives has launched a new round of interactive and educational workshops within the School of Democracy, activity that is a part of the Social Inclusion Program.

This year program has expanded in two more schools: „Mihai Eminescu” Lyceum, Hincesti, and Gimnazium „Serghei Esenin”, Alexanderfeld village, Cahul. Thus, IRI will implement program’s activities in five localities from Moldova.

Activities are performed in an easy going and friendly atmosphere and by using various informal teaching methods, which motivate children to attend extra-curricular sessions weekly throughout the school year and will involve about 100 children aged between 8-14 years old.

The program will allow children to participate in trainings and development activities in the following format: “I am interested in, I do care and I want to make a change” performed by IRI facilitators and local experts in the field.

“At the Democracy School I have made many friends, I have become more organized and more responsible, I have learned a lot of new and interesting things,” said Marina Trevco, a member of the School of Democracy and the winner of the award “The most active student of the year” 2013-2014.

Democracy School is part of the Social Inclusion Program 2013-2014 implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives with the generous support of the Global Fund for Children, Washington, D.C., Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED) Moldova and local partners.
