The first institutionalized interest club for Roma children from Moldova was officially inaugurated. The purpose of Roma Club was to facilitate the inclusion of Roma children in the local school. Roma Club also encouraged non-Roma children to participate in order to close the social distances created by different ethnic prejudices between Roma and non-Roma.
Initially, Roma Club offered activities that were inclusive in nature (the thematic course “We all are friends”) and English language classes. Later the club also offered classes of Civic Responsibility, Ecology, and Health.
