This project is implemented with the financial support of Roma Education Fund, Budapest, Hungary for a period of 17 months. The project intends to facilitate quality educational processes in one school attended by Roma students/pupils (village of Zirnesti) through a system of educational vouchers and individual assistance (tutoring) so that the level of the beneficiaries’ academic performance is improved.
There have been no such initiatives in the Republic of Moldova in terms of project components, project expectation, partnerships and working approach. That is why this pilot project is being implemented with great attention and interest while being permanently monitored and researched.
To date, the first phase of the project has been completed, which entailed collection and processing of important figures and baseline data about the specific problems and needs currently faced by the target beneficiaries. Also during the first phase of the project a concrete methodology of individual assistance and a monitoring scheme have been elaborated so that the future intervention in selected pilot schools becomes measurable and more efficient.
