Social Inclusion Program of the Institute for Rural Initiatives (formerly Ograda Noastra)

The Institute for Rural Initiatives (formerly Ograda Noastra) continues for the 6th year implementation of the Social Inclusion Program from June 2014 to May 2015.

This year the Institute will extend its inclusion program with a view to serve more communities and more vulnerable kids. In this sense the Institute for Rural Initiatives will work in five communities (two more) in Republic of Moldova: Zirnesti and Alexanderfeld villages, Cahul district; Mingir village, Hincesti district; Gribova village, Drochia district, and the city of Hincesti.

The initiative aims to offer continuity to iRi efforts in building and developing a network of interactive inclusion frameworks within different schools (democracy clubs) all over the country, especially within disadvantaged rural communities.

The project comprises of a series of extracurricular activities such as: interactive workshops about civic education, community mobilization and development of personal initiatives to take place during the school year 2014–2015. Additionally, there will be organized summer schools while the „The best pupil of the school” and „The most active student” initiative will be promoted to a new level.

This initiative comes to support the iRi Social Inclusion program of aiming to educate a mixed group of vulnerable children coming from different social backgrounds to act as promoters of democracy, with capacities of cultural sensibilities, tolerance toward these differences, acceptance and tolerance .

The project is implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives with the support of Global Fund for Children, Washington, D.C., Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED) in Moldova, together with its local partners and in partnership with schools administration in Zirnesti and Alexanderfeld villages, Cahul district; Mingir village, Hincesti district; Gribova village, Drochia district, and the city of Hincesti.
