Call for Participation

The Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) announces a competition for participation in the YouthACT online training course for all interested in empowering the rural youth in the Republic of Moldova.

YouthACT (Young people act) is a rural youth empowerment model developed by iRi and the partners following 3 years of experience in 30 communities. The model is simple but based on a wealth of practice and experience working with young people in Moldova, Hungary and the USA.

Once selected, the participants will benefit from:

  1. Five online sessions of 1.5 hours each, moderated by experts from Moldova and the USA. The sessions will focus on 2 modules:
    • Strategies for motivating and involving young people at the local level.
    • Community-based youth empowerment solutions tailored to community realities.
  2. Opportunities to socialise and network with other youth professionals, including from the USA.
  3. Course completion certificates.
Who can apply?
  • Youth specialists from LPA of level I and II.
  • Mayors, local councilors.
  • NGO representatives.
  • Representatives of school institutions.
  • Representatives of non-formal initiative groups.
  • Enthusiastic young people eager to start/consolidate local youth activities.
The selection of communities will be based on the following criteria:
  1. Motivation letter of the applicant for taking this course (1 to 2 pages).
  2. Availability of the community to participate in all 5 trainings which are to be held online (Zoom Platform). Duration of a training – 1.5 hours (usually 1-2 sessions per month in the afternoon, around 15:00).
Interested communities are kindly requested to send the following documents: motivation letter (minimum 1 page and maximum 2 pages) and declaration to take the whole course (5 trainings) to the e-mail address e.turcan@iri.md by February 22, 2022.
Only selected communities/people will be contacted.

The Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that aims at the socio-economic development of rural communities in the Republic of Moldova with the objective of increasing the level of civic engagement of the population in Moldovan villages and raise accountability of public institutions to citizens.
