Minority Empowerment in Moldova

The project aims at strengthening the capacity of minorities in Moldova to advocate for and improve their social, economic and political conditions on local and national level. The project will run for about 20 months and will be implemented at the local level in different regions of Moldova while mobilizing and empowering local communities to act as democracy promoters.

The project focuses also on developing networking opportunities, communication with stakeholders, will share best practices from the U.S. and Europe in matters of advocacy and community organizing for leaders of different minority communities in Moldova. Efforts are be invested in implementing/facilitating the implementation of minority integration policies at all levels in partnership with local and central authorities.

Special attention in the project are given to young people, in their quality of next generations which can contribute to the establishment of a better society and building their own future through development of active participation capacities in solving problems of local interest within communities. In this sense the project activities facilitate the process of empowering different ethnic minorities while growing a number of leadership and civic engagement skills.

Civic engagement, inclusion and active participation are the key words in this program.
