ERYM Empowerment Voucher: From Passions to Skills

ERYM Empowerment Voucher: From Passions to Skills

Five young women have recently completed the “Makeup Art: Simple & Healthy” course, organized as part of the empowerment voucher programme within ERYM (Empowering Rural Youth in Moldova) – “Holistic Empowerment of Rural Youth.”

The course, delivered by makeup artist Valentina Cecoi, was highly anticipated by the young beneficiaries. Over three sessions, they learned about skincare, the proper selection and use of cosmetic products, as well as specific makeup techniques. For some of the five participants, the course was an opportunity to learn more about makeup and skincare for personal use. For others, it became a motivation to further develop their skills with the aim of pursuing employment in the beauty sector or even starting their own business.

The three sessions combined theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, giving the young women the opportunity to experiment, practice and develop their skills in a field they are highly interested in.

For the participants, the experience was also an opportunity to turn a dream or a curiosity into something practical and tangible.

“I really enjoyed having the opportunity to learn things I didn’t know before and, most importantly, to put them into practice. The course gave me more confidence and made me want to continue learning and developing my skills in this field.” – Gabriela Botnari, one of the course participants.

“For me, this course was a new and beautiful experience. I learned that makeup is not only about products and techniques, but also about understanding what suits you and how to take care of your skin. I am happy that I had the chance to try, practice and learn from a professional.” – Madalina, a course participant.

“Makeup Art: Simple & Healthy” is the first course delivered through the ERYM empowerment voucher programme, through which iRi aims to provide young people with opportunities to learn and develop skills based on their own passions, interests and curiosity.

“We believe that every young person deserves access to opportunities that allow them to say: ‘I like this. I want to try it. I want to learn.’ This is exactly the idea behind the voucher programme – to support young people in discovering and developing their own dreams and passions.” – Lilia Sula, Programme Coordinator at iRi.

The completion of this first course marks another step in the development of the voucher programme and opens the way for new learning opportunities in areas chosen according to young people’s interests and passions – from HoReCa and services to sports and the arts.

“We can’t wait to see what comes next, but we believe it will be something exciting, innovative and truly valuable for our country.” – Tatiana Cosuleanu, Executive Director of iRi.

The activity is part of the “Empowering Rural Youth in Moldova (ERYM)” project, implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi), with financial support from Sweden.
