From 10 to 18 December 2020, 5 communities in the south of the Republic of Moldova, were provided with an exercise of analysis and evaluation of implementation of plans for increasing budget transparency in the community.
Given that it is the end of the year, the local authorities and representatives of local coalitions in the communities of Baurci, Tomai, Vulcanesti, Gaidar, Ceadir Lunga, were to evaluate the implementation of activities included in the plan for 2020.
The exercise of analysis allowed the launch of discussions on improving some or other aspects of the implementation of 2021 plan.
It should be noted that despite a rather difficult year, which brought a number of challenges for each community, the level of implementation of the plans on increasing budget transparency is nevertheless successful and amounts on average to 85% of the total number of activities proposed for implementation in 2020.
We remind you that at the beginning of this year, with the logistical support provided in the framework of “My Budget” programme, the plans for increasing budget transparency for LPAs and Local Coalitions were developed in the 5 communities mentioned above. The plan of Local Coalition aimed to assist LPAs in the process of integrating the model of better budget governance at the local level.
Please, note that the sessions on evaluation of implementation of the plans were organised with the logistical support of the Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) within the framework of “My Budget” programme.
“My Budget” project – “Inform, empower and act! Civil society for better budget governance in Moldova”, is implemented by the Independent Analytical Centre “Expert-Grup”, as the the lead partner, together with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung e.V. (KAS, Germany), the Centre for East European Studies (CSEE, Lithuania) and the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE). The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung e.V.
