The MEET Center continues to offer useful and memorable experiences to displaced children and parents from Ukraine and Moldova. This time, a group of 17 children and 8 parents had the opportunity to become real pizzaioli at the OLIVA VERDE restaurant in Chisinau.
The activity combined children’s creativity with the practical skills developed within the Lab Design workshop, turning culinary art into a fun and educational activity for both children and parents. Participants in the activity learned how to prepare pizza in a professional pizzeria under the step-by-step guidance of Italian cooking experts.
This experience not only gave them the opportunity to explore the culinary arts, but also allowed children and parents to express themselves freely by choosing and combining their favorite ingredients, learning about the importance of creativity in life and the role of teamwork.
”This master-class was an unforgettable experience for all of us”, mentioned Elena, mother of three children.
Enthusiasm, smiles and good vibes
For many participants, this was their first opportunity to experience Italian cuisine in such an interactive way.
”That was the tastiest pizza ever! Now I know how to make it at home!”, 11-year-old Tanea said with a smile.
The children’s enthusiasm was evident from the very beginning of the activity, many of them being eager to put into practice their ideas of cooking pizza on their way.
Viorica, the mother of 6-year-old Agnes, said, “Agnes woke up with great excitement that she was going to make her own pizza today”.
Parents attending the event were equally impressed: “It’s great to see children so engaged and creative”.
This activity once again demonstrated the importance of involving children in educational and recreational activities, which not only develop their skills, but also give them the opportunity to create beautiful memories with their loved ones.
Having fun and socializing
While the pizza was baking in the oven, the children enjoyed the play area where they had fun and socialized. These recreational activities were designed to complement the culinary experience, giving the children a relaxing environment in which to socialize and spend free time with their new friends.
The atmosphere was a time of celebration as each child was encouraged to actively participate and express their ideas.
At the end of the activity, all the participants enjoyed the pizza made by themselves, creating a family and friendly atmosphere among those present.
“I was delighted to see how involved the children were. These activities are essential for their personal development and to give them a sense of belonging”, added the grandmother of two grandchildren Alina and Artiom.
This activity is part of a series of educational and recreational activities organized by the MEET Centre to foster the integration and rehabilitation of children from Ukraine.
