From the 17th through the 31st of October the Institute for Rural Initiatives with the partnership of the Office of Inter-Ethinic Relations co-organized 3 instructive courses for the public adminstrative representatives from around 17 districts of Moldova. The goal of the training was to improve the local action plans designed to support the Roma population under the Government Decision Nr. 494 from July 8, 2011.

The trainings took place in Chisinau (October 17-18), Soroca (October 24-25) and in Cahul (October 30-31) and they instructed more than 60 representatives at the local administrative level and Roma activists about how to better implement public policy for Roma at the local level. One of the objectives of the training was to develop planning skills with the view of expanding local action planning for Roma that can be developed in the future.

These three trainings also put an emphasis on developing teamwork skills and communication between sectors, especially with the Roma mediators. Some Roma community mediators invited to these trainings shared their ideas for more efficient plans to develop and implement actions that can lead to better implementation of the National Plan for Supporting Roma.
