RurAct: rural communities act

The Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) with the financial support of the Black Sea Trust implements the project “RurAct: rural communities act – improving democratic governance in rural communities in the Republic of Moldova” (hereinafter: “RurAct: rural communities act”).

The aim of the project is to increase the level of trust and cooperation between local (rural) public administrations and civic initiative groups in 5 rural communities.

The project will provide learning space on good governance at the local level, interaction with experts in community mobilization and a series of tools for building trust between the 5 LPAs and 5 civic initiative groups in the community interest.

In order to increase the level of budget transparency and the involvement of citizens in the budget process, the communities will benefit from professional assistance for developing understandable budgets for everyone, including qualitative infographics. The project also offers an exchange visit to Romania.

All project activities are based on the principle of voluntary collaboration between local authorities and civil society entities.

As a result of this project, 5 civic initiative groups will be developed and empowered, which will learn to work with village halls, especially on budget transparency topics.

The project “RurAct: rural communities act” is implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) and local partners with the financial support of Black Sea Trust, a German Marshall Fund project, USA.
