At the Decision-Making Table: Communities Deciding Together

The project aims to increase the participation of young people and women from five rural communities in the Republic of Moldova in local decision-making processes. Through training, participatory analysis of local budgets, dialogue with public authorities, and advocacy actions, young people will have the opportunity to identify community issues, develop solutions, and advocate for them before local decision-makers.

The project will establish five local youth initiative groups, conduct participatory analyses of local budgets, and develop five citizen-friendly budget products (“Citizens’ Budgets”). Young people will also benefit from small grants to turn their ideas into concrete community initiatives. The project will directly and indirectly engage at least 700 young people, with girls and women representing at least 50% of those involved.

The project is implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) in the communities of Lingura, Carbuna, Roscani, Cobilea, and Tudora.

This project is funded by the European Union and implemented through East Europe Foundation in partnership with in partnership with the National Youth Council of Moldova (NYC), Centre Partnership for Development (CPD), Non-Profit Enterprise Agency for Regional Development from Tiraspol.
