Empowerment for CIVIC ENGAGEMENT (an IntegrACT project)

Empowerment for CIVIC ENGAGEMENT (an IntegrACT project)

The Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) is implementing the “Empowerment for ENGAGEMENT” initiative – a natural continuation of previous IntegrACT projects implemented by iRi in the framework of the Grant Programme of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova (MECC).

This time the project aims to empower 5 local NGOs to take up the iRi experience together with the best practices accumulated within the field visits over the last 4 years, thus replicating the IntergrACT model in 10 other youth communities in Moldova.

The previous IntegrACT, IntegrACT PLUS, IntegrACT Amplify and IntegrACT Alumni initiatives have mobilized, trained and motivated more than 700 young people from various rural areas of Moldova in 19 communities of the Republic of Moldova to community action, volunteering and cooperation with LPAs. The “legato” element between these projects naturally united these 4 projects into an ongoing programme with measurable results that could be translated into a national intervention model aiming at the integration through action of young people from rural minority areas.

Through the proposed activities at the local and national level, the project aims to empower 5 NGOs at an advanced level, as well as to assist them directly in working with youth practitioners in 10 rural communities.

The project “Empowerment for CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: intensive and advanced empowerment of 5 local youth NGOs to replicate the IntegrACT model tested by iRi in the last 4 years” is implemented by the Institute for Rural Initiatives (iRi) within the Grant Programme 2021 for Youth Organisations of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova (MECC).
